Check On Me!

CheckOnMe is a product idea that sprang up partially during COVID and later refined by a group of my "elderly" friends.

Currently, the product is in exploratory development. What does that mean you ask? Well, every product needs a core set of features so the question is, given the current state of technology, do we have the tools needed to implement those features? Some features are quite simple to implement while others can be quite complex. Plus there's the added problem of making sure ALL features can be implemented across all devices. Currently, we have the core features working on all Apple devices but not on Android.

The next question with any product is "How do you make money?" Yeah, a certain feature set can be "free" but we still have servers to maintain and support staff to pay. That money has to come from somewhere so where will that be? In principle we could sell your data but, that's not something we believe in.

The last question is always a biggy and that's what are the legal risks associated with this product? Some products are just laden with risks while others are pretty risk-free.

It's entirely likely that we'll get the core features working. We already have some good ideas on how to monetize CheckOnMe. The real test will be whether or not the legal risks are too high.
